TROKER is an instrumental hard-groove band that fusions jazz, rock, funk and hip hop, and leaves behind a Mexican flare.

SAMO GONZALEZ (Salamanca, Guanajuato. 1979), Double bass - Samo came into the world of music at the age of thirteen with private teachers; at his young age he began playing the double bass in a band called Canek, whom focused on research of Prehispanic Mexican music.
He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Las Rosas in Michoacan, the School of Music of the University of Guanajuato and Integral Development Institute of Music in Mexico City.
As a composer, arranger and instrumentalist, he has served on various edgy musical projects in our country: Evamalva, whose album Blue Paradiso (2004) was named among the bests albums of Mexican rock in 2004; Projector, a band with just a Projector EP (2007) that demonstrated his enormous talent for building unforgettable pieces and correctly mixed trip hop, rock, pop and Mexican music; The Gil Cervantes Trio, an exploration project of sounds ranging from jazz to electronic underground rock with whom shared stage with trumpeter Dave Douglas.
As a bassist, he has six albums on the market, has collaborated live and in studio with musicians Steven Bernstein (Sex Mob, Lounge Lizards), Jay Rodriguez (Groove Colective), John Medeski (MMW, Lounge Lizards), Alejandro Otaola, Alonso Arreola, Todd Clouser, Sara Valenzuela, Iraida Noriega, Omar Rodriguez Lopez (The Mars Volta), among others.
Samo's pulse on bass is precise and strong making it perfect for beat projects like Troker, where the groove is an essential part.
In 2012 along with his two founders fellows of Troker and their Manager Ana Rodriguez, they created Fijate que Suave, a cultural music business that operates Troker and other services as live music for private events, audio equipment and musical instruments rent, and editorial development with the licensing of Troker’s compositions.
CERVANTES GIL (Teul Gonzalez Ortega, Zacatecas. 1975), Trumpet - Since he graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA) in 2003, Gil has positioned itself as one of the most multifaceted musicians and assets in the national scene.
He has been nominated for the national award, Lunas del Auditorio into the Jazz and Blues category twice; named Person of the Year by the Milenio newspaper in 2009 for his commitment and work as a cultural manager in the country; and granted with another award by the government in Zacatecas in 2008 as Distinguished Musician and Composer Teulense.
His job as a cultural promoter began in 2003 in the city of Boston MA, and continues to this day as director and co-founder of Tonica GDL AC, an association that has received support from institutions in Panama, Colombia, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Mexico.
Today he acts as an evaluator and advisor for the Program of Encouragement for Artistic Development in Jalisco and is a member of the Evaluation Technical Committee of cultural projects for the Government of Aguascalientes. He has been invited by several universities in Mexico to give lectures and workshops as Cultural Promoter.
In his career he has worked as a producer, conductor, composer, arranger and trumpeter; he has shared stage with Danilo Perez, Phil Wilson, Brian Lynch, Giovanni Hidalgo, dosage, Alex Machacek, Muse, Belanova, Mariachi Vargas, Jay Rodriguez between other, adding up to 58 cds recorded.
He has directed the Threepenny Opera, Beatles Music, Telefunka Electrosinfonico, Gil Evans Porgy and Bess, and Miles Ahead; the last two performed with his own GCJO orchestra.
In 2007 he was invited by Troker to play in the presentation of their first album, Jazz Vinyl, and to date he has been part of the band. Gil is an Exclusive Yamaha Artist.
FRANKIE MARES (Zamora, Michoacán. 1982), Drums - Frankie, currently recognized as one of the most prominent drummers because his complexity and unique sound, is part of the select list of talent in the new jazz movement in Mexico.
In his 30 years, he has play with international artists in both recordings, and live performances, such as: Steven Bernstein (Sex Mob, Lounge Lizards), John Medeski (MMW, Lounge Lizards), Omar Rodriguez Lopez (The Mars Volta), Don Byron, Jay Rodriguez (Groove Colective), Alex Machacek, Todd Clouser, Alonso Arreola, Iraida Noriega, Gerry Rosado, Alex Otaola, Sara Valenzuela and German Bringas.
In recent years he has been part of several projects that have grown successful, such as Descartes A Kant, Evamalva, Los Rabiosos del Norte, Trioker and Troker, with whom began in 2003.
In 2009 he opened his studio, FM Studios where he has had the opportunity to work as producer on albums by Boutique (2009), Naranjito Blues (2010 and 2011), Vesica Picis (2011), Durazno Sangrante (2011), Colores Santos (2013), Kingsmith (2013) and Luciano Sanchez (2013).

BETO LOPEZ -DJ ZERO (Mexico, DF. 1982), Turntables - Beto started in turntablism back in 2005 in the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur; he is an autodidact artist who noticed the lack of DJ´s in his town and decided to gain a professional career from it.
He bought his first turntable and under the name of "Dj Zero" and in 2006 left town to move to Mexico City and met "T-CAPITAL" (Champion DMC of Mexico 2005) and Dj Unknowbass, who supported him in learning techniques of turntablism.
In 2007 he decided to participate in the Red Bull Scratch Match, being qualified for the national final in Mexico City. With only two years of experience and without ever having played in front an audience, he ended the national competition in the 4th Place.
Following this, he began participating in local hip-hop bands in Guadalajara and from other cities in the country, and started scratching for events with international talent such as: Serko Fu (Mexico), Cultura Profetica (Puerto Rico), Don Paccino from Wu Tang (USA), Afura (USA), Zona Ganja (Argentina), Golden Ganga (Guadalajara) and Boca Floja (DF).
Since 2008 Nopal Beat (electronic music collective from Guadalajara, Jalisco) invited him to impart lessons of mix and scratch, next big local names, which expanded his horizons and allowed him to understand music and its genres with a different perspective.
In 2009 he returned to compete at the Red Bull Scratch Match and became the national champion with the opportunity to attend as a contestant to an international battle in Krakow, Poland. This chance is still valid and waiting for him.
He is a member of the independent record label and Garufa Masare Records and the Scratch Crew Team Mexico. In 2012 he joined Troker, mixing for the band old school hip hop, jazz and new trends that have emerged in recent years regarding turntablism.
Arturo „El Tiburon“ Santillanes (Zapopan, Jalisco. 1979), Saxophone - Known as the "tiburon", he took his first music lessons at the age of twelve in the Musicians Union of Guadalajara; three years later joined the youth band of his father Juan Enrique Santillanes and started playing professionally at schools and small towns around Guadalajara.
For nine years he was part of Plastiko, a rock band that merged funk, ska, swing, reggae and soul with whom he recorded three productions: Plastiko (2000), Mondo Groovy (2003) and Plastiko Live (2007). They shared the stage with bands like the Black Eyed Peas, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Pericos, Babasonicos, Enanitos Verdes, Molotov, Jaguares, La Ley and Kinky among others.
Tiburon, also was a member of Galapago with whom he recorded Infinito Palmeras (2003) and Latin America (2006). Together they participated in the Festival Mexico Magic in France, and during the same period he was also part of the lineup in 3Mother Funkers and recorded their first album To Walk with Style (2004).
He has participated as an instrumentalist and arranger in various projects such as the Mexican tour in 2002 for Enanitos Verdes and with producer Alejo Stivel (Joaquin Sabina and La Oreja de Van Gogh), and was invited to record with the Spanish band M-Clan and La Cabra Mecanica.
In 2009 he was part of Tonica, the International Jazz Workshop in Guadalajara lead by the Master Bob Sheppard; one year later Yamaha Instruments signed him has an exclusive artist.
Knowing a depth of musical styles, Tiburon is one of the most versatile and energetic saxophonists of contemporary rock and jazz scene in Mexico. He started playing with Troker in 2004 and 8 years later along with his two founders fellows of Troker and their Manager Ana Rodriguez, they created Fijate que Suave, a cultural music business that operates Troker and other services as live music for private events, audio equipment and musical instruments rent, and editorial development with the licensing of Troker’s compositions.
CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ (Guadalajara, Jal. 1984), Piano, Keyboard and Guitar - For Christian, the musical venture came completely natural as he grew in the house of his parents which was the meeting place for various musicians in Guadalajara.
His father, the renowned blues guitarist Charly Jimenez was who instilled his love for the blues and jazz.
Although he attended for several years to the Wagner Music Academy in Guadalajara and took different courses of contemporary music with teachers like Mario Romero and Hector Enrique Nery Infanzón, most of his musical training was received in contact to the professional scene and playing at the most recognized venues and clubs within the local and the national scene.
He is currently pianist and co-composer in Troker since 2006, and the legendary blues band Gato Gordo. He also contributes as musician during live performances or recordings with artist and bands such as: Los Afro Brothers, Blues Naranjito, Avilés y los extraños, Sara Valenzuela, La Dosis, Chester Blues Band, among others.
For 5 years he played with Iguana Rouss, rock / jazz band with whom he recorded Welcome, and won the second position on the national co-Hard Rock Stage contest.
His virtuosity has enabled him to participate as a featured guest musician for international artists such as saxophonist Jay Rodriguez (Groove Collective) Jonathan Maron (Groove Collective), and Mexican musicians as important as Agustin Bernal, Alejandro Otaola and Iraida Noriega.
Christian Jimenez is emerging as one of the great promises of the music in Mexico. He has three albums in the market and he is in the process of launching his solo production.
